IW360 - Day 40  Friday Aug 14th

Info:
Foot is getting better, thank you big pharma for your lovely non healthy concoctions! I was able to get a flip flop on my foot today! Can't wait till this is over and I can stop taking these pills. Hey gotta do what you gotta do right?

On a more positive note, shored up the details with Paleo Magazine - a recipe I submitted got chosen to go in their "Readers Choice" cookbook that will be available at Barnes and Noble later this year! Pretty cool in my opinion! I will let you all know when it comes out, AND I will even post the recipe I submitted on Whole360 in the next few days!

DAY 40 COMPLETE
IW360 - Day 39  Thursday Aug 13th

Info:
Went to the doctor for the foot issue, she basically confirmed I'm an idiot and then gave me some medicine to help get rid of the gout faster. I have been chugging cherry juice too but this is one of the worst cases I've had. I guess 3 cases of beer in 2 days and enough red meat (with no veggies) for three people was a bad idea! I had to skip a concert I had planned on going to tonight because it hurt so bad there was no way I could walk through the venue. I hate taking pills and the like, but I am so glad I made it to the doctor to get help this time.

Time for a little heavy: I am making a statement right here as well, I will not let this happen again. Not only did I miss the concert, but I missed going with my daughters and that is unacceptable to me. I don't really communicate with my dad much, never really have (not for a lack of trying on my part) and it still bothers me somewhat to this day (although I'm used to it now) and I don't ever want to be that person that isn't in contact with my kids whenever they want or need it. /heavy off

Miss out on this? Never again!

DAY 39 COMPLETE

IW360 - Day 38  Wednesday Aug 12th

Info:
Couldn't sleep last night whatsoever, got myself some full blown gout again. Just goes to show cheat days are not worth it. Luckily I've used them all up and I now have to behave myself! We were supposed to hike Hanging lake today....no way that was happening, you know since I couldn't put a shoe on. It wasn't because of the excruciating pain, well that was part of it, the other part was my right foot was like a size 13 and my left was still a size 9. Don't think it's possible? Good thing I snapped a pic!

That's a nice walrus flipper I'm sporting.....

IW360 - Day 37  Tuesday Aug 11th

Info:
Was home for about 12 hours total and then my friend and I packed up the camper and headed over the mountains for a little R&R. Found a really cool campground right next to a river which was awesome......getting a really sore toe, which is not awesome (gout again?) We are supposed to hike hanging lake tomorrow morning but we will see what happens with the toe again.

Camping on the river = So much WIN!

IW360 - Day 36  Monday Aug 10th

Info:
Today was the start and thankfully the end of a road trip back to Colorado! My friend from Michigan met me at Nationals and is coming out to Colorado for a little vacation, so I cancelled my return flight home and road tripped it back with him.

Saw this last night while walking around Quincy. Tornado 1, Car 0. The branch was actually driven down through the dashboard too! Crazy stuff!

This was about the extent of sightseeing in Kansas.......

IW360 - Day 35  Sunday  Aug 9th

Info:
Sorry for the slow updates, life has been crazy, but that's no excuse. I will try to get caught up over the next few days. Today I had 6 stages to finish up at the Nationals match before the end of the day. Got them finished with only a few crash and burns and had a great time. The only issue was that I re-hydrated with Miller Lite and some crappy food. Yeah recipe for disaster.....more on that later... I am glad to  be done shooting though because the humidity is brutal out here.

Our greeting to the start of day 2...at least it cooled it off for a few minutes!

Food Log:

NOT Whole 360 Compliant (Cheat day 4/5)

Exercise:

Walking/Running ~ 5 miles

IW360 - Day 34  Saturday  Aug 8th

Info: Well it's finally here! Day 1 (for me) of the 2015 USPSA Nationals! Had to get out to the range early for shooters meeting and to get all set up, there is a crazy buzz out here that I have never felt in any other match I have been to. It's not surprising since over 375 production division shooters are about to duke it out to see who is crowned the 2015 National Champion! The stages are pretty technical and really test your skills - I can't wait! My goal for this match (since it is my first national Championship level match ever) is to finish above 50% of all of the competitors, have less than 10 "mikes" (what we call misses in USPSA) and finish in the top 5 of my class. on the Paleo front, I even bought and packed Paleo food so I would be in my best mental and physical condition today! 12hrs on the range when it is 90 degrees and 85% humidity is going to be a heck of a challenge!

A little Colorado Leadslingin' going on!

Whole 360 Compliant

Exercise:

Walking/Running ~ 7 miles

IW360 - Day 33  Friday  Aug 7th

Info: Miss me? Yeah probably not, but I'll pretend you did! Now that I am back from my travels lets get this caught up. For the sake of saving time I am not going to list all the food I ate until I get this caught back up, but I will let you know if I was Whole360 compliant or not in the food log area. I have notes on everything I ate (I forget if I don't write it down) but its a lot of stuff and really not that important.

Made it to Quincy last night, and today wanted to head out to the range and check out all the stages and to rub elbows with all the Pro shooters. I'm not a start struck type of person, but I got to see most of the pros that you see on TV shows etc and it was pretty cool. I kind of stalker/tagged along with them to check out their stage plans (USPSA shooting in a nut shell is - you are presented with a problem (stage) and you have to solve it the fastest and most accurate way possible, but you use pistols) After a good 3-4 hours I was #1 SOAKED (its so humid in IL) and #2 felt decent about the stages and what I was going to do. So after a quick trip to the hotel to rinse off with clean wet, I got dressed and went back outside for some more sweating and to check out Quincy a bit. Quincy has a pretty rich history (Abe Lincoln had a presidential campaign office there!) so there was some cool stuff to check out.

This guy has an interesting story, a true hero IMO, Check out the story HERE

IW360 - Day 32  Thursday  Aug 6th

Info: Travel day! What can I say, this trip started out great...Bought a Super Shuttle to the airport, and a Black Escalade showed up instead. Win #1. Get to the airport and wrangle all my bags to check in, get through security fast and make it to the gate, where some stranger comes up and asks to sit down. We chat about where we are traveling and hes not an anti gunner so its a cool conversation.  Then he drops the "Is Christ in your life?" bit and I decide to oblige him (I was baptized Catholic, attend church when I'm forced to, but believe in God) and he's actually OK with that. Then he asks permission to lead me in a prayer and I was like heck why not? SO he prays for my family and for me to have a strong performance at Nationals and a safe flight. Win #2. Time to board the plane...I'm towards the last to get on, plane is crammed full and then like a bright awesome pot of gold an entire row is empty. Win #3. Fly in to St Louis where I am renting a car, except you have to shuttle to get to the cars and baggage is taking FOREVER....finally get my bags, haul out to the shuttle area and just as the Alamo shuttle is about to bail she just stops and waits a second and opens the door. Gives me the extra 2-3 minutes to crank over there and hop on. Win #4. Get to the rental joint and its fast, I'm in and out in 5 minutes. Head out to the lot and the attendant is like "Sorry we are out of midsized cars" and then he looks at me and says "Pick whatever you want, we've got full sized cars, SUV's and a few Luxury SUV's if you want" I kinda looked at him like whaaaaa? I picked a Dodge Charger cause I didn't want to be greedy and ruffle my good luck! Win #5. I drive the 2 hours to my hotel in Quincy IL and check in is super fast there too, I cannot believe my good fortune so far Win #6. Head to dinner to meet up with a friend and get to meet one of the guys that was on season one of the TV show Top Shot. Dude is super cool and we geek out and talk computer stuff and eat dinner. Win #7. At this point I head back to the hotel to crash.....I don't want to mess up a nearly perfect day. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!
